The People Around Us
(Formerly The 'Some Elbow Room' Podcast)
There are so many ways to live a life and this podcast is testament to that!
Our conversations are honest, fun, reflective and interesting and we hope to inspire our listeners who may be a bit stuck in their work to stop and think about what they really want in life - to create “some elbow room”.
Specifically, to put some time aside to really think about:
(1) How their current job suits their personality
(2) The impact it is having on their own wellbeing & happiness and
(3) The influence it is having on the relationships most important in their life.
Our guest’s stories unfold key moments of change. Often influenced by their work, we talk about how those changes have impacted their lives. Whether our guest recognised an opportunity or had a plan, said yes instead of no or just fell on their feet - their lives often turned for the better! We also discuss how being part of a group or community is important to feeling that sense of belonging and how much belonging influences one’s happiness and wellbeing. This podcast may even inspire you to seek it out if you don’t have it in your life. Our guests show there are many ways to live a life and finding a balance between ambition, hard work and fun is the place to be!
This is what we explore from all directions and more on the “The People Around Us” Podcast. Enjoy!
The People Around Us
A Few Moments With Prof. Cheryl Kickett-Tucker, The Owl, Goanna & Wombat
At the end of recording a fantastic yarn with Cheryl about her life as per Part A & B of this 13th episode, Cheryl took over as podcast host on a whim turning the tables on Dave, Gary & Darren !!
It wasn't planned nor did they know what was coming their way but they ran with it anyway. Cheryl asked the boys a few fantastic questions around Totems, what they would ask any famous Indigenous person of their choice if they could, if they are happy and what people need to do to keep that spark in life alight.
It's funny, thought provoking, deep at times and shows yet another side of Professor Cheryl Kickett-Tucker being the amazing human being that she is. Enjoy !
